Are you ready for On Grounds Interviewing?  You will be after you read this post.  This post will be the first in a weekly series designed to help you successfully navigate the OGI process.  Many of these responses are taken from our OGI FAQ page at https://www.career.virginia.edu/students/ogi/faq.php, which is a great page to bookmark for later reference.  If you have any questions, contact us at 434-924-8900, or stop by our walk-in and drop-in sessions for quick answers.  With that, here are the first five questions of our Q&A series on OGI.

How do you know if you get an interview?
If you are chosen for an interview, you will be notified through e-mail as well as through CAVLink. A notification stating that you have been selected for an interview will appear on your CAVLink homepage under the ‘Alerts’ section.

Do I need to keep checking CAVLink?
In order to ensure that you do not miss any deadlines, please make sure to check CAVLink daily. You can set up a search agent using the advanced search feature in CAVLink to receive postings that meet your criteria on a daily and weekly basis.  Check out our video tutorials at http://www.youtube.com/user/UVaCareerServices/videos.

What to do when you’re waiting? Where do I wait?
There is a student waiting room on the fourth floor.  We ask that you leave your coats and bags on the designated table outside of the room to allow enough chairs for all students.  Don’t forget to take your things with you!

Can you drive?
You can, but we don’t advise it.  Walking or taking the UTS bus, which stops directly in front of our door, is a much better option.  There is VERY limited metered parking space available along the back wall of the parking deck – 25 cents per 20 minutes w/ a maximum meter time of 2 hours

What floor do you take the interview to?
All interviews will take place on the 4th floor of Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium (listed as Bryant Hall in CAVLink). Please arrive at Bryant Hall at least 15 minutes before your interview and take the elevator in the lobby to the 4th floor.
