Health Professions Advising
Preparing to apply to a health professions school may seem like a daunting task, but Health Professions Advisors (HPA) in the University Career Services (UCS) office are available to help facilitate the process. Health professions schools like to see well rounded candidates with both strong academic backgrounds as well as a variety of extracurricular experiences such as community service, clinical experience, involvement in student organizations or research.
For guidance on how to become a strong applicant, we highly recommend that your first step be to subscribe the Health Professions Listserv (see description below). Then refer to the variety of resources available on this website by clicking on the health profession you are interested in from the menu on the right. For further guidance also consider scheduling an appointment or stop by during drop-in and walk-in hours (see below).

Health Professions Listserv
uva-healthprof@virginia.edu This listserv is for all students interested in health professions. Weekly announcements include information regarding events and opportunities of interest. It is strongly recommend that you subscribe to this list because other important announcements (deadlines, meetings, visiting experts, etc) are periodically sent via the listserv.
