Business Careers Internship Fair

Business Careers Internship Fair

Friday, November 20, 2009
10:00am–3:00pm
Rouss & Robertson Halls
Participating Companies

Are you looking to gain experience in business to strengthen your resume? Or to find out if a career in business is right for you? Or to make contact with potential employers for entry level positions after graduation? The Business Careers Internship Fair is a great place to meet employers in the investment banking, accounting, and consulting fields who are looking for summer interns.

By holding this small, boutique-style fair in late fall, students and recruiters have the opportunity to connect early in the intern hiring process. The Business Careers Internship Fair offers a competitive advantage by bringing companies on-Grounds before Spring semester. Students will be able to meet and talk with employers at the fair, and may be asked back for an interview the following day. You won't want to miss the opportunity to network with employers and learn more about the highly competitive internships available in the business world!

Students are not required to pre-register and can simply check-in at the registration desk when they arrive.

Ways to Prepare

Business Careers Internship Fair
  • Students are encouraged to research companies of interest by reading their job descriptions and visiting their Web sites.
  • Prepare questions for organizations of interest based on your research.
  • Read the UCS handout on Navigating a Career Fair (pdf).
  • Prepare a 30-second personal introduction to highlight the skills and knowledge you are building and your areas of interest.
  • Have UCS critique your resume during our walk-in hours. UCS offers walk-in hours and appointments Monday-Friday; please click here for more details.

Did you know…

  • Experience is highly valued by potential employers. Experience can be through internships, externships, summer employment or volunteer work.
  • Many students receive full-time employment offers after completing an internship with an organization.
  • Direct one-to-one contact with people, preferably face to face, is by far the most effective way to get a job or internship.
