What is CAVLink?

CAVLink is U.Va.'s partner in bringing you:

  • Job listings targeted toward U.Va. students (including Federal Work-Study and On-Grounds student employment opportunities)
  • On-Grounds Interviewing information for students seeking summer internships and full-time employment
  • Job Search Agents to automate your job search and receive e-mails about new opportunities
  • Resume, Cover Letter, and Transcript storage to assist with job applications

You have numerous options after logging on. You may want to search "job, internship, and externship listings" posted for U.Va. students by employers who will not be visiting the University. You also may want to apply for positions with employers who come for On-Grounds Interviewing (OGI).

Why did UCS switch from HoosTRAK to CAVLink?

University Career Services is committed to providing you with the resources you need to successfully use our services. The new CAVLink system will allow us to offer you a technically enhanced web site where you’ll enjoy access to thousands of jobs, internships, and externships. You will also have an easy-to-use system for submitting your resume and signing up for On-Grounds Interviewing.

The new technology means that searching job listings will be easier and you are guaranteed that your privacy is protected. Your information will never be shared without your permission.

If I was registered for HoosTRAK, will I need to re-register to access CAVLink?

Yes, all HoosTRAK accounts were purged when we moved to the CAVLink system. You will need to register for an account, create your User Profile and upload a new resume (and cover letter, if applicable). This is a great opportunity to update your resume with current information regarding your address, GPA, year in school, work experience, etc.

I didn't download my resume before the switch to CAVLink and that was my only version. Is there any way I could get a copy?

No, we sent an e-mail to all students with active accounts in April 2007 with instructions regarding downloading resumes and cover letters in anticipation of the move to CAVLink. We no longer have access to the HoosTRAK database where your resume was stored, so you will not be able to receive a copy from our office.

How to Register for CAVLink

  • All students and alumni should read and agree to the standards outlined in the Student Agreement Form (pdf).
  • Current Students: Register with your U.Va. e-mail address and the standard U.Va. password (see top of page). Please change your password to something unique when you log in for the first time.
  • Alumni: Register with your current e-mail address. The U.Va. password can be found on the Career Assistance page in HoosOnline.
  • How to put your profile on CAVLink (coming soon)
  • Please review UCS's Privacy Policy (coming soon)
  • If you receive an error message, please click on the “Forgot My Password” tab. The system will generate a new password and e-mail it to you. If you still have difficulty logging-in, please send an e-mail to cavlink@virginia.edu
