Selection Criteria

A University faculty and staff committee will select Parents Grants recipients based on two primary criteria: (1) the quality of the applicant’s application, resume and essays; and (2) the degree to which the internship supports any of the five areas of public concern as defined by the Virginia 2020 Commission:

  • Civic engagement and public policy
  • Economic and business development
  • Education, both K-12 and lifelong learning
  • Environment, both planned and natural
  • Health

The University of Virginia, as provided by applicable federal and state law and University policy, prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, marital status, age, sexual orientation, citizenship, or status as a covered veteran.

Deadline

The deadline for the application will be 12:00pm noon at Monday, March 31, 2008. Applicants must submit complete applications to the UCS front desk. It is strongly advised to have your resume and application reviewed before they are submitted.

Terms and Conditions

Parents Grants recipients must complete the entire internship described in their application materials.
