[return to CPE index]

Name: Rashawnda James
School:
Major: Sociology
Graduation Year: 2011
Career aspirations at age 7: Pedestrian
Career aspirations now: Social Worker
Favorite UCS program/resource: OGI
Most meaningful/career-defining moment: The most defining was my internship at social services. I assumed the title of internship due to my many duties. My responsibilities included greeting, updating information in the lobby on resources, researched cases, phoned clients, access to national and state social services programs, able to sit in on interviews. The experience was so meaningful because I was able to witness and assist people while they were in need. It provided me with an inner joy to help those unfortunate because of my personal experiences in life. I have a passion for giving back and helping other to develop, seek and attain new goals.

We also present workshops to student groups on Writing Resumes, Choosing Your Major and Making the Most of Job Fairs; simply complete a Program Request Form to get the process rolling.

Read a former CPE's journal detailing her experience securing an externship using UCS resources!
